Last night we toured three historic homes near Marietta Square. They were decorated with various antiques passed from one generation to the next. The docents pointed out special features of each room and kept the crowds moving. Although I was inspired by some of the details, it made me sad at the same time. We lost so many Christmas items in the flood and I'm just not ready to sort through what did survive. This year, the spirit of the season will have to find its way to our home without all the hoopla.

A hoopla-less Christmas - doesn't sound too bad, huh?
